An announcement was made to the distributors that stock conveyors could now be ordered directly from the Stockyard. A staff of capable men and women now comprised the Stockyard crew. To facilitate the expected increase in orders, the new building was equipped with eight shipping doors. Arvis Connor was still making regular trips back and forth between Jonesboro and St. Louis, keeping the Stockyard racks full of conveyors. Just that summer, he was given the right to select a brand new tractor trailer “rig” to use on his trips. Hytrol experienced a 40 percent increase in distributor and customer visits in 1973, another indication of the company’s continued growth. The Hi-Lites newsletter was showcasing more and more large conveyor systems, many ordered by well-known national companies. As a result of all this activity, the year 1973 resulted in another dramatic increase in sales. The year’s total was over $7 million!
