Kent Hebert Hired As Director of Controls Engineering

JONESBORO, Ark.—Hytrol Conveyor Company, a leader in the material handling industry, is pleased to announce that Kent Hebert has joined our team as the Director of Controls Engineering. Hebert has 13 years of experience in automation with seven of those being in material handling.

Although his early career interest was in Information Technology, Hebert’s occupational experience led him to a love for engineering. After working for a couple of years doing general maintenance and support in the field of automation, he moved into a role as a controls engineer. This experience has given him the opportunity to learn controls engineering through his real life and field-relevant experiences.

As Hytrol’s Director of Controls Engineering, Hebert will focus on the controls engineering team and panel shop to develop, program and commission automated conveyor systems. Some of the initiatives he is most looking forward to are developing structured processes within the controls team to contribute to greater efficiency through designing, constructing, commissioning and supporting our customers with automated control products.

Hebert contributes his success in the field to a strong work ethic and a desire to learn and grow both in technical knowledge and in leadership skills.

Hebert said, “There have been many times I’ve simply been in the right place at the right time, but I believe my work ethic and abilities have gotten me here as well. I think the younger version of me would be blown away to see how far I’ve come, and I’m very excited to start this next chapter with Hytrol.”

Boyce Bonham, Chief Technology Officer for Hytrol said, “Kent is a refreshing addition to lead the Hytrol controls team. I think his determination and positivity will help him to take on new  challenges, support strategic initiatives and bring in new ideas to the Hytrol family.”

Originally from Houghton, Michigan, Hebert grew up in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. He moved back to Michigan when his wife was accepted into medical school, and the couple welcomed their baby boy on May 11 of this year. Hebert’s favorite hobby is auto racing where he races road courses and competes with the National Auto Sports Association. He also proudly does all the work on his racecar himself.
