Hytrol Goes Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

JONESBORO, Ark.—Hytrol Conveyor Company has embraced pink for the month of October in honor of breast cancer awareness. Hytrol employees have taken up initiatives such as the Pink Warrior Walk, Wear Pink Fridays and Men Wear Pink to help raise funds and awareness for this deadly disease.

On Saturday, October 14th, St. Bernards Healthcare held its annual Pink Warrior Walk, that brought together members of the community to show solidarity and support for those affected by breast cancer. Participants donned in all shades of pink, walked alongside survivors. Hytrol had over 30 employees in attendance. The walk, spanning five kilometers, was especially meaningful to survivors such as Hytrol’s Production Coordinator Jo Ann Harris.

Harris said, “The amount of support that Hytrol has shown for Breast Cancer Awareness Month has been nothing short of amazing. For the Pink Warrior Walk, our shirts read, ‘In this family no one fights alone’ and I couldn’t agree more. I am a warrior, and I would not be where I am today without my family.”

Throughout September and October, Hytrol employees have participated in Wear Pink Fridays, turning the workplace into a sea of pink. This initiative has not only ignited a sense of community within the company but has also sparked conversations about early detection, prevention and support for those affected by breast cancer.

Hytrol’s Chief Development Officer, Phillip Poston was selected as an ambassador in the Men Wear Pink campaign. Poston and several other leaders in the Jonesboro community have taken up the mantle, donning pink attire and actively raising funds for the American Cancer Society. Poston has currently raised $12,669.76.

Poston said, “I want to demonstrate our company’s core value of community. I know many wonderful women who have battled breast cancer and many of them have been blessed to win. By raising money and awareness through Men Wear Pink, we can help to end breast cancer as we know it, for everyone. At Hytrol, we are excited to celebrate those who have been able to ring the bell and support those still in the fight!”
