Henderson Selected for arkansas' 20 in their twenties

JONESBORO, Ark.—Clara Henderson has been selected as a “20 in Their Twenties” honoree by Arkansas Business for 2024. The publication annually features young Arkansas professionals to recognize their exceptional workplace accomplishments and impact to the community. The honorees are nominated by readers of the magazine and then chosen by the publication’s editors.

Henderson is Hytrol’s Continuous Improvement Facilitator and has worked toward improving scrap and waste management for Hytrol since her time as an intern in 2021. She has had quantifiable success with many of the projects she has led and contributed to. Henderson facilitated improved measures for safety data management and communication with Hytrol’s safety team, resulting in a 67% reduction in recordable injuries for the first quarter of 2024 as compared to the first quarter of 2023. She was the project manager of Hytrol’s shipping process improvement initiative, saving the company 39% in materials and supplies. Henderson also led a restructuring of Hytrol’s quick ship layout that increased output by 40% in 2022.

Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering and a minor in mathematics from Mississippi State University. She’s also obtained her Lean Systems Certification and Six Sigma Black Belt.

Henderson said, “I have been inspired by many great leaders at Hytrol. Their competence and confidence reassured me that I could make a difference here; I aspire to be a leader worth following, someone who does the right things for the right reasons earnestly and diligently.”

Todd McClung, Hytrol’s Vice President of Manufacturing Operations said, “Clara has an impressive combination of intelligence, creativity and drive. The way she approaches her work with enthusiasm and curiosity is inspiring, and she’s shown herself to be a great collaborator and someone who leads by example.”

In her spare time Henderson enjoys participating in races that benefit local non-profits. She’s recently done the Industrial Park 5K, Heart and Sole 10K and the Pink Warrior Walk.

This year Arkansas Business chose the “20 in Their Twenties” class out of more than 200 nominations from across the state. Honorees will be featured in the September issue of Arkansas Business. For more information on the 20 in Their Twenties visit ArkansasBusiness.com/20.
