The Hytrol Story

The first Distributor Convention was a success. Sales began to improve. But when the second quarter statement was released, there was a profit loss. Things looked a little bleak at that time, and Tom even considered taking over the sales management again and going out on the road. But after more thought, he decided to wait another quarter. At the end of the third quarter of 1963, Tom went to the CPA office of Phil Jones. Phil handed him the third quarter statement, and they discussed it for a while. Tom then called Sam and Ralph and set up a lunch date for that day at the West Park Restaurant. As Ralph and Sam walked toward Tom’s table, they couldn’t help but notice that something was up. There sat Tom Loberg with a gigantic grin on his face! When Sam and Ralph were seated, Tom gave them the wonderful news. Hytrol had made a profit of $26,000 as of the third quarter! As 1963 came to a close, the first full year of Hytrol’s operation in Jonesboro, Arkansas, sales had reached a new high of over $670,000. Things were looking up for the company at last.
